Benton Harbor, Michigan, March 21, 2017- Modineer Corporation, a metal stamping company based in Niles, Michigan received approval tonight from the Benton Charter Township Trustees on a tax abatement for a proposed expansion project at their Benton Charter Township location. Cornerstone Alliance, Berrien County’s lead economic development agency, has been working with Modineer for several months and presented the tax abatement on their behalf.
This is the first of a multi-step process to keep the company in Berrien County. Modineer is seeking assistance from the State of Michigan to locate their Coating Division in Benton Charter Township.
“Modineer is a growing company and we are confident they will receive the necessary incentives from the State for the expansion project to occur in Benton Charter Township,” said Greg Vaughn, Cornerstone Alliance’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President, Business Development. “We appreciate the support of Benton Charter Township in securing the abatement and will continue to work with the State to bring 21 new jobs to Michigan.”
