Benton Harbor, Michigan-Cornerstone Alliance and Kinexus are excited to announce a recruiting initiative that will work with partners and spouses of newly hired talent seeking employment in Southwest Michigan. The two organizations have formed a joint role that will connect these individuals with prospective employers in the networks of both Kinexus and Cornerstone Alliance throughout Michigan’s Great Southwest.

“This is an opportunity for both Cornerstone Alliance and Kinexus to help connect spouses and partners searching for a position,” said Christina Frank, Director of Investor Relations at Cornerstone Alliance. “Many times, the employment needs of a spouse or partner can be the difference between accepting and rejecting an offer. This Dual Career Initiative will help these individuals connect with businesses to start the process.”

“Who better to address this challenge than Cornerstone Alliance and Kinexus together,” added Dan Peat, Senior Director  of  Business at Kinexus. “We are taking a proactive role in not only identifying opportunities for the dual career families locating in our region, but we’re also making sure the backgrounds and skills of the candidates are a good match for the company’s culture and productivity. It's really a win-win situation for the candidate and the employer.”

This initiative was identified as an opportunity from Michigan’s Great Southwest Strategic Leadership Council, an organization created in 2013 by local business leaders, government officials and educators to enhance the services, education and economic growth in Berrien County. “Collaboration is  at the forefront of  successful community  efforts,  and we believe this  undertaking is  a great example of organizations  working towards  a shared goal,”  said Kim Thompson,  Executive Director  for  the Strategic  Leadership Council.

This partnership will find success through coordination with a series of local companies including, employment agencies, the First Choice Program, the Southwest Michigan Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and many others who work to support existing businesses in expanding and staying in Southwest Michigan.

The Dual Career Initiative is slated to kick off January 1, 2018. Applications for the Dual Career Initiative Talent Coordinator are currently being accepted. Interested candidates, please click here for job description and application  process.
